New Hyperbaric Chamber in Dahab |

 A new hyperbaric medical centre has opened in Dahab. The chamber is a used Italian made Drass-Galeazzi model with a capacity to treat up to nine patients simultaneously and has been certified and is in a great shape,' Dr Adel Taher, the director of the Sharm El Sheikh Hyperbaric Center.
It is hoped that the new chamber will help deal with decompression illness (DCI) cases in Dahab more promptly - up to now, all DCI casualties have had to travel 100km south to Sharm El Sheikh to be treated.
'As with the chamber in Sharm, we will also offer training for physicians and medical student elective placement to all who want to visit us,' Dr Adel Taher added. 'In Dahab, we already have about 22 hyperbaric tenders who I trained earlier with the help of two dive centres: Poseidon and Sinai Dive Club, to help with cases coming from Dahab to Sharm.'
